Was sind LEDs?

Where does the term LED and what is LED ? Answers to these and other questions in this article.

An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is an electronic light source. Its basis are called semiconductors such as gallium, silicon or arsenic. To be able to very efficiently emit light, they must be extremely pure and meet certain requirements. To achieve this, a very thin semiconductor base layer (engl. Wafer, wafer) is coated molecularly in vacuum chambers. This procedure is called MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy). This process is also known as "crystal growth". In the pure crystalline structures impurities are implemented before the wafer is cut into microscopic units. These semiconductors form later- as a unit of different polarity (anode and cathode) - Light a chip. Light emitting diodes are microstructural solid and completely insensitive to vibrations. Hold 1000 times longer than conventional bulbs, halogen lamps provide equally in the shadows, produce very little heat and consume less power. LEDs do not contain harmful inflation gases and do not generate ultraviolet radiation. Robustness, long life and high light output with further growth potential among the outstanding characteristics of the LEDs. White LED light is free of ultraviolet and infrared components and therefore has advantages from a conservation. Daylight white LEDs offer higher efficiency, warm white LEDs have better color reproduction quality. LEDs are dimmable and switching stability, so they are ideal for lighting control and additive color mixing. In contrast to other light sources, no transmission losses at RGBLEDs by color filters. In order to fully exploit the luminous flux of the temperature sensitive LEDs, good thermal management is indispensable.

What happens in the Light chip?

The electron emitting diode circuits true to their core shells. If a voltage is (power supply) that exceeds a certain threshold, it is fast with this atomic monogamy over.
Excited electrically, the electrons have the property of being separated from their atomic union, to connect elsewhere with a foreign atom. If the crystal growth succeeded perfectly, giving the electrons produced during the "impact" in the new atomic energy organization in the form of very light units, so-called photons from.
